Mining is extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from the earth usually from an orebody, lode, vein, seam, reef or placer deposits. Industrial Mining activities refers to mines that are currently engaged in mineral and metal extraction operations. The materials can range from common to precious, and from inert to hazardous. The mines themselves can be small or very large in size.
